GREENFIELD – Gail Louise Stiverson, 65, of Greenfield, died Sept. 18, 2011.

She was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Absalom Charles and Ruth Alice Johnston Parry. On Oct. 1, 1977, in Winona Lake, she married John Floyd Stiverson, who survives.

She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School,  Austintown, Ohio, in 1963; Fort Wayne Bible College in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in Christian education and music; and earned a degree from Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky., in elementary education in 1973. Over the years, she was a teacher at various schools in Kansas City, Mo.; Mishawaka; Ponca City, Okla.; Columbus, Ohio; and Warsaw. She also worked at Cardinal Center,  Warsaw, and directed preschool for one year in Winona Lake. She was the music librarian for the Brandywine Wind Band as well as a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Greenfield. She enjoyed reading and memorizing the Bible as well as music – especially band, flute, piano and vocal of classics and hymns. She enjoyed doing puzzles of all kinds, e-mailing, photographs, writing and organizing. 

Also surviving are three brothers: David Ronald Parry,   Cumberland; Absalom Carl Parry, Warsaw; and Daniel Earle Parry, Osaka, Japan.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church, Greenfield.

Calling is from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the family residence, 739 W. North St., Greenfield, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church.
