Editor, Times-Union: First off I would like to correct a wrong. The letter on Obama and unions was not written by Lonnie Smith, it was wrote by Lonnie Slone. Don’t know how the mix up happened.
Janet Collins wrote that she agreed with my letter and I, too, agree with the one she wrote that was in Friday night’s paper. Sad thing is, Miss Collins, I don’t think there is a Republican or Democrat that will stand up and fight for a union and it seems there are very few that will stand and fight for America.
At the present rate our beloved country is going to hell in a hand basket and neither side gives a dang other than if their side comes out on top in the end.
I just saw a article the other day that said the lower middle class, which I took to mean folks who work their butts off for nine to 10 dollars an hour just to live from week to week, will have to pay 9.5 percent of their pay for health insurance under Obama care. Now you can call me stupid, but just how are those folks supposed to make it?
I realize that at times my rants against the current administration make it appear I am dyed in the wool Republican, but that’s not so. I am American for America. I just wish we had politicians from both sides that felt the same way. Big corporate greed and the mind set of our current politicians are killing America, not the unions.
