Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
While weather forced the cancellation of the Freedom Fest Parade during the America 250 Freedom Fest celebration on Saturday, the Freedom Fest committee and the ML Community Impact Alliance are encouraging parade participants to showcase their patriotic spirit, America 250-themed floats, classic vehicles, organizations and community pride in another local parade.
The Kosciusko County Community Fair Parade will take place on Sunday, July 12, with the parade beginning at 2 p.m. Lineup will begin at 12:30 p.m.
To make participation easy, fair organizers have arranged for the parade to use the same lineup location and parade route originally planned for the Freedom Fest Parade.
"We know many individuals, businesses, churches, service clubs, and organizations invested significant time and effort creating patriotic displays and floats for Freedom Fest," said Freedom Fest organizers. "Although Mother Nature had other plans, we are grateful for the opportunity provided by the Kosciusko County Community Fair to give participants a chance to share their America 250 pride with the community."
Anyone who was registered for the Freedom Fest Parade, as well as others who would like to participate, is encouraged to join the Community Fair Parade. Your freedom fest parade registration will be acknowledged for the fair parade. Confirm your parade participation by email at nrhoadesfd@gmail.com
The Kosciusko County Community Fair Parade promises to be a great opportunity to celebrate community, patriotism and the spirit of America's 250th anniversary while continuing a long-standing county fair tradition, according to a provided news release.
