Free Group Exercise Classes Coming To Downtown Warsaw Farmers Market Starting June 14

The Kosciusko Community YMCA, in partnership with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Warsaw, announced free group exercise classes at the Downtown Warsaw Farmers Market.
Beginning Saturday, June 14, the community is invited to join fun, energizing workouts from 10 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot across from the county courthouse. Classes will be held every Saturday through the end of October.
Each week will feature a different workout style — ranging from bootcamp and Piloxing to dance fitness, Soul Fusion and yoga — led by certified YMCA instructors. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome and encouraged to bring a towel and water bottle, according to a provided news release. No registration is required — just show up and move!
“Our mission at the Y is to strengthen community — and that includes showing up in the spaces people already gather,” said Mark McQuade, director of healthy living at the Kosciusko Community YMCA. “We’re thrilled to bring movement and connection to the Farmers Market each week.”
Certified YMCA instructors are ready to inspire and energize participants of all ages. Wendy Dotson, who leads the Piloxing class, describes it as “a high-energy, heart-pumping interval workout combining powerful boxing and pilates moves as you move to the beat. Light weighted gloves are optional to add resistance, and all fitness levels are welcome.”
For those looking for a mat-based strength workout, Kim Pearson will be leading Soul Fusion sessions. “Soul Fusion is where muscles meet the mat. It’s a full-body workout that’s fun but also makes you work! You’ll see how cardiovascular and bodyweight movements enhance your core, strength, balance, and flexibility,” she said.
Families can also take part in healthy fun with the addition of a Family Fitness & Game Station located on the courthouse lawn, designed to get kids and adults playing and staying active together.
“Our goal is to make downtown the community’s living room and premiere gathering place,” said Terry Sweeney, downtown development director. “This powerful community collaboration is a win-win for residents and visitors alike — connecting health, wellness and local shopping in the heart of downtown.”
In the event of inclement weather, class cancelations will be posted on the Kosciusko Community YMCA Facebook page.
