He graduated from Jasper High School in 1950.  Franklin proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On Aug. 22, 1953, he was united in marriage to Bernice Fetter at Mary Help of Christian Church in Mariah Hill. He settled in Evansville and began working for Mead Johnson in 1957.  After years of night school, he graduated from the University of Evansville in 1972. In 1973, he accepted a position at Zimmer and moved to Warsaw. He retired from Zimmer in 1990. Frank was a caring, loving husband, as well as a father and a passionate servant of God. He spent many hours volunteering at Sacred Heart Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He was proud of his children. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren out in the boat to “swim in the deep” or watch them play in the channel. There are many pictures of grandchildren catching their first fish off of his pier. He was a faithful friend with a quick wit to bring joy and a smile to others.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Bernice Berg, of Warsaw; children, Steve (Christi) Berg, of Warsaw; Phyllis (Kim) Wheeler, of Larwill; Carol (Tony) Staley, of South Bend; Sarah (Dennis) Robinson, of Warsaw; David (Nicole) Berg, of Fort Wayne; and Frank (Janet) Berg II, of Fishers; sisters, Virginia (Tom) Schnellenberger, of Huntingburg; and Mary Jane (Ron) Wagner, of Brownsburg; 20 grandchildren; and over 20 great-great-grandchildren; they will miss his smiles and hugs.
