Franklin Lamar Sherrod, known to some as "Feelow," took the hand of his Savior at the young age of 40 on Oct. 1, 2023, at home in Warsaw.
He was born on June 17, 1983, in Chicago. His family moved to Elkhart when he was 16 where he attended Elkhart Central High School.
Feelow had a diverse career and left a lasting impact everywhere he worked. He was employed by Gulf Stream RV at the time of his passing, but he also worked at Dalton Foundry and Maple Leaf Farms. He was a hardworking individual who took great pride in providing for his family.
Feelow will be remembered for his joyful spirit and love of celebration. He enjoyed dancing and cherished moments spent with loved ones during get togethers and holidays. He brought an infectious energy to any gathering, making those around him feel welcomed and embraced. Feelow had an incredible passion for sports. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Bears, but he held a special place in his heart for basketball legends such as LeBron James and Derrick Rose. His enthusiasm for sports brought joy to those around him, as he eagerly shared his knowledge and opinions with friends and family. Above all else, Feelow will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His big-hearted nature touched the lives of many individuals throughout his lifetime.
Franklin Lamar Sherrod is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Lori Lupica, of Warsaw. He treated Lori's children, Whittney Taylor and Draven Lupica, as his own. He leaves behind five siblings: Pam Sherrod, of Crest Hill, Ill.; Steven Sherrod, of Chicago; Kizzie Sherrod, of Indianapolis; John Sherrod, of Elkhart; and Inell Sherrod, of Elkhart. In addition to his immediate family, Franklin is survived by three beloved aunts: Robbin Coverington, Jackie Bradley and Jeffera Sherrod. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and countless cousins who all shared cherished memories with him. He was preceded in passing by mother, Wanda Inell Sherrod; and a grandmother, Inell Osorco.
Franklin's impact extended beyond blood relations. He formed deep connections with several special individuals who held a significant place in his heart. Addison, Mya, Dallas and Tony - grandchildren to Lori; Linda Alto and Jerry Taylor - parents to Lori and Brian Taylor - Lori's brother - who all welcomed Franklin into their lives with open arms.
Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, is entrusted with care of the Sherrod family. Visitation will be held there on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. EST. A Life Celebration funeral will take place the following day in the funeral home. The service will begin at 11 a.m. EST with gathering for one hour prior. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
