PIERCETON – Francisco Valdez Jr., 67, of Warsaw, passed away at 8:38 a.m. May 4, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Francisco and Aurora M. Mireles Valdez Sr.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, he was employed as a machine operator for Symmetry Medical, Warsaw. He loved music, especially “the blues.” He also enjoyed watching football and baseball and his favorite teams the Bears and the Cubs. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are a son, Frank Christopher (and spouse Lynn) Valdez, Mentone; a daughter, Tracey (and spouse Justin) Miner, Pierceton; his mother, Aurora M. Valdez, San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Maria (and spouse Leonardo) De La Luz-Banda, Eagle Pass, Texas, and Juanita (and spouse Jose) Yzquierdo, Mont Belvieu, Texas; a brother, Jesus Valdez, San Antonio; seven grandchildren: Felicia, Austin and Madison Miner; Ryan Valdez, Jason Gibbs, David Stover and Joni Sauer; six great-grandchildren: Jayla and Trinity Sauer, Jaxson, David, Peyton and Miaha Stover. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecilio and Herlinda Mireles.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Pierceton, with Father Dale Bauman officiating. A rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
