Four Injured In Two-Vehicle Accident On Ind. 13Four people were injured during a two-vehicle accident Thursday on Ind. 13.

According to the Pierceton Police Department accident report, at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, Timothie J. Tucker, 31, East 3rd Street, North Manchester, was driving a 2007 Ford south on Ind. 13, 30 feet south of CR 200N, Pierceton. He was behind Jon D. Von Gunten, 82, Fort Wayne, who was driving a 2013 Buick.

Tucker said, for an unknown reason, he “spaced out” and did not know he was following Von Gunten’s vehicle as closely as he was until he rear-ended Von Gunten’s vehicle.

Von Gunten said he was driving on Ind. 13 behind another driver. The vehicle he was following started to slow down with its left-turn signal on. Von Gunten said he slowed down and that’s when he was rear-ended.

Tucker complained of chest pain; Van Gunten complained of nonvisible chest injuries; a passenger in Tucker’s vehicle, Lexie Tucker, 4, North Manchester, and a passenger in Von Gunten’s vehicle, Sharon L. Von Gunten, 81, Fort Wayne, both complained of nonvisible chest injuries.

Damage was at $10,000 to $25,000.
