Feeding The Soul

Winter storm watch - no church today and so it goes, Sunday after Sunday.
But I thank God as the cold winds blow, that our churches are closed only due to the snow.
We know that soon the bad weather will come to an end, and once again we can worship with our friends.
I thank God, too, that in this land where we live, that we can have freedom of worship, that we can have incentive.
In many churches in other lands, the doors are never open. No heads bowed in prayer, no stirring sermons, no hearty amens.
In lands where the government controls its churches, lives many people that have a deep hunger in their soul.
There are so many things we take for granted. Till a winter storm watch sometimes leaves us without even bread.
But it isn't the bread we buy at the store that feeds our hungry soul, so let us pray that next Sunday, we can hear our church bells toll.
