This is a letter I've written to the writers for the FOX show "Family Guy". As you can see I didn't like the episode and I intend to let them know. I'm just wondering how many in our community feel the same but don't know where or who to complain to, to get quality shows on TV.
To the writers of "Family Guy",
You'll have to excuse me but I am writing this letter in anger. Last night, Sunday, Dec. 27, my local FOX network aired an episode of "Family Guy" that greatly angered me. So much so that I turned off the TV and left the room.
What offended me was Peter using the American flag for toilet paper. If this is suppose to be a joke, I don't get it. Who was this joke intended for? For me? I don't think so, for me the flag is a sacred symbol of all those who would call themselves an American. For me it represents the lives that have been lost in the name of freedom. Would you take the flag from a dead soldier's grave and wipe your butt with it? For me everyday I remember the men and women whose lives are on the line; soldiers, sailors, airmen, police, fire fighters and paramedics.
Because it's a cartoon do you think it doesn't count, people will laugh and forget about it?
