Eva Grenard Messmore, 87, of 7232 E. CR 650N, North Webster, died at 6:58 p.m. July 26, 2009, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born April 4, 1922, in Brownsburg, to Joseph and Alice Hendricks Grenard. On May 16, 1970, she married Glenn W. Messmore, who survives.
She retired from Western Electric, Indianapolis, in 1970, and then continued working until 2005, for Owens/Kroger. She moved to Pierceton from Indianapolis, in 1970. She then lived in Washington, Ind., for a while and returned to North Webster in 1987. She was a member and active with Pierceton United Methodist Church, and was also a member of United Methodist Women.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (and spouse Bill) Perkette, Indian River, Mich., and Paula (and spouse Gary) Powers, Glendale, Ariz.; a stepson, Denny Messmore, Warsaw; three stepdaughters, Judy Cantwell, Jan Hamman and Carolyn (and spouse Wilber) Berry, all of South Bend; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Larry Rice officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
