Eugene Ramey, 78, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Sept. 17, 2011, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born July 5, 1933, in Floyd County, Ky., to Arthur and Mary Campbell Ramey. On May 12, 1961, in Louisville, Ky., he married Wanda Hale, who survives.
A lifetime Kosciusko County residence, he was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County. He retired from DePuy as a quality control inspector. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandson. He was devoted to serving the Lord. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-59. During his active years he was an aircraft electrician and was very proud of his military service. He was a past member of Warsaw American Legion Post 49.
Also surviving are a son, Charles Ramey, Pierceton; a daughter, Regina Ramey, Warsaw; a grandson, Sean Stabler, Warsaw; a sister, Rushe Friend, Venice, Fla.; a brother, Thomas (and spouse Georgia) Ramey, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard, Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Warsaw Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 11226.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
