A Eucharistic Procession for two Warsaw Catholic churches will be held on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 11.
This Sunday is the Feast day of Corpus Christi, where Jesus' true presence of His body in the Holy Eucharist is celebrated, said Ida List, adult faith formation/small group coordinator, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe will participate in the procession. Adoration will be at Sacred Heart from 1:30 to 1:55 p.m. with the procession beginning at 2 p.m.
The procession will travel 0.8 miles from Sacred Heart to McKinley Park where the procession will stop for prayer, song and blessing. The procession will then go 0.9 miles to Lucerne Park for benediction.
Father Jonathan Norton from Sacred Heart Church and Father Constantino “Tino” Rocha from Our Lady of Guadalupe will be presiding over the prayers.
Following the procession, all are invited to join in a family picnic that will include fun and games.
This is not the first year Warsaw churches have participated in a Eucharistic Procession. Last year, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend participated in the Eucharistic Procession and Festival in Warsaw. The event kicked off the three-year Eucharistic Revival for the Catholic Church in the United States, according to a previous news release from the diocese.
List said she hopes people participating in the procession will be able to grow in their love of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
