SYRACUSE – Erma I. Mast, 79, Lexington, Ky., formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31, 2016, at her home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Syracuse, to Wilbur Perry and Loah Mabel Roberts Walton. She was married Feb. 11, 1955, in Warsaw, to Perry D. Mast, who preceded her in death Aug. 30, 2000.
She attended Milford High School and was a lifetime Syracuse area resident until she moved to Kentucky in September 2005. She formerly was employed as a waitress at Bates Diner & England’s Family Dining, Syracuse.
She was a member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren, Milford; American Legion Auxiliary Post 223, VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Lodge, all in Syracuse.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise (and spouse James) Young, Corinth, Ky.; two sons, Daniel (and spouse Anna) Mast, Nappanee, and Donald (and spouse Betty) Mast, Cynthiana, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carroll L. (and spouse Thelma) Walton, Pierceton, and Clifford C. (and spouse Deanna) Walton, Cromwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Delores Mast; a son, Duane Mast; two grandsons, Donald and Jason Mast; and four sisters: Betty Smith, Joan Hann, Waneta Prescott and Wilma Everest.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Rev. Steve Smith, Penn Avenue Baptist Church, Georgetown, Ky., officiating. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
