NORTH MANCHESTER – Emma Lou Allen, 91, of North Manchester, died at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 29, 2012, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She was born July 28, 1921, in Wabash County, to Bruce and Mildred Barnett Meyer. On Dec. 24, 1939, she married Harold L. Allen, who died Oct. 7, 1995. She worked at Eaton Controls from 1959-85, when she retired. She attended Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake. She graduated from Chester High School, North Manchester, in 1939. She was a member of 39’ers Club and World War II Mothers. Surviving are two sons, Robert Allen and Danny Joe (and spouse Willodean) Allen, all of North Manchester; two daughters, Janice (and spouse Eddie) Wood, Claypool, and Saundra Hoagland, Warsaw; two sisters, Rosemary Lynch, Silver Lake, and Eleanor Winger, North Manchester; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake.
