Emma Jean Layne Perkins Miller, 83, of Burket, passed away at 5:03 a.m. March 5, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Alpharetta, Ky., to William Taylor and Martha Hale Layne. On March 1, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Ky., she married Ralph Perkins, who died April 1, 1984. On Nov. 7, 1987, in Burket, she then married Melvin Miller, who died Sept. 18, 2009.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph (and spouse Kathy) Perkins, John (and spouse Rhonda) Perkins and Kevin (and spouse Kelli) Perkins, all of Warsaw; four daughters, Toni (and spouse Don) Caudill and Jackie (and spouse John) Driscoll, all of Warsaw, and Donna Perkins and Lisa Chaplin, both of Burket; five stepdaughters: Anna Jean Hurd, Mentone; Arlene (and spouse Larry) Sroufe, Larwill; Gloria (and spouse Ron) Dafforn, Columbia City; Gale (and spouse Larry) Burkhart, Warsaw; and Saundra (and spouse Jack) Ott, Estero, Fla.; three stepsons: Michael Miller (and Pauline Haynes), Wabash; Arthur Miller (and Linda Colter), Columbia City; and Rich (and spouse Kristy) Miller, South Whitley; a sister, Georgia Layne, Manton, Ky.; a brother, Burt Layne, Betsy Lane, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She also was  preceded in death by a stepson, Melvin Miller Jr.; two grandchildren; three brothers; and five sisters.
Service will be at noon Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
