SYRACUSE - Elmer Armbruster, 89, of Syracuse, died Sept. 4, 2010, in his residence.
He was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Syracuse, to Andrew W. and Anna Mary Rapp Armbruster. On Feb. 22, 1948, in Elkhart County, he married Doris Davis, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he operated a dairy farm for many years and was a member of Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Syracuse.
Surviving are a son, Daniel (and spouse Deborah) Armbruster, Syracuse; a daughter, Mary Sue (and spouse David) Grenert, Lakeville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian Butt, South Bend, and Barbara (and spouse Walt) Claeys, South Bend. He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Syracuse, with Pastor John French officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.
