Ellen Regina RobertsAKRON – Ellen Regina Roberts, 87, of Nappanee and formerly of Rochester and Akron, passed at 12:07 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Center for Hospice of Elkhart.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1931, in Fulton County  to Ira Morris and Nina L. Riley Spurlock.

She married on Sept. 10, 1949, in Athens to Harold Max Roberts; he preceded her on Nov. 2, 1993.

Regina had worked for Hart Schaffner & Marx of Rochester for 22 years.

She was a member of The Cross of Rochester and attended services at the Heritage House that were conducted by the Nappanee Missionary Church.  She enjoyed passing time playing cornhole and Wii bowling.

She is survived by daughters, Sara and husband Joe French, of Nappanee, and Joyce and husband John Branch, of Hanceville, Ala.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Kay and husband LeVaugh Gross, of Peru.

She was preceded in death by husband, Max Roberts; sister, Carol Vandermark; half-brother, Sam Harmon; and great-grandson, Gavin McDonald.

A private family graveside service was held at the Athens Cemetery with nephew pastor Aaron Gross officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
