FORT WAYNE – Elizabeth B. Karolyi, 90, Columbia City, passed away at 5:20 a.m. March 1, 2014, at The Oaks Nursing Home, Columbia City. She was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Budapest, Hungary, to Peter Paul and Rose Margaret Mohachi Karolyi. She graduated from Payne High School, Payne, Ohio, and from Skadron Business College in Fort Wayne. She moved to Texas in 1947 from Fort Wayne and returned to the Columbia City area in 2007. She formerly taught at a Christian school in Texas, and was a licensed insurance agent for many years. She was formerly affiliated with the Catholic Church. Surviving are two sisters, Clara Burgoon, Payne, and Helen Hoy, Warsaw; one brother, Arthur Michael (and spouse Monna) Karolyi, Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Louis and Joseph Karolyi. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lindenwood Cemetery Chapel, 2324 W. Main St., Fort Wayne.
