SYRACUSE - Edwin D. Harting, 72, of Syracuse, died at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 19, 2007, in Goshen General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Noble Township, to Owen C. and Virginia Stewart Harting. On Aug. 21, 1959, he married Myrna Harper, who survives.
He was a 42-year Syracuse resident coming from Huntington and Wolf Lake. A barber since 1953, he owned Ed's Village Barber Shop since 1965. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Cromwell; a charter member and past president of Stones Trace Regulators Muzzleloading Rifle Club; and a member of Masonic Lodge 714, Cromwell.
Also surviving are a daughter, Shelly (and spouse Craig) Ladwig; a son, Bill (and spouse Olivia) Harting, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with Sister Elsie Fregeau and the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmel.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
