Edward Lynn Gardner, 52, of Winona Lake, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:55 a.m. Feb. 28, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 6, 1960, in Shelby, Ohio, to Bruce Nelson and Shirley May Posekany Gardner, who both survive in New Haven, Ind. On Oct. 5, 2007, he married Dienne Miller, who survives in Winona Lake. He loved the Lord and was a loving husband and father. He was a compassionate person to the point that he one day picked up a hitchhiker and gave him his new boots and coat. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past seven years where he was a member of New Life Christian Church and World Outreach of Warsaw. He had worked in construction for 30 years, and he worked at Precision Grinding and Sharpening in Warsaw prior to getting ill. Also surviving are three sons: Tyler Kessler, Fort Wayne; Trent Kessler, Pierceton; Luke Gardner, Winona Lake; a daughter, Danielle (and spouse Adam) Fox, Warsaw; a brother, Duane Gardner, New Haven; a sister, Elaine (and spouse Alan) Louden, New Haven; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Christian Church and Outreach, 744 S. CR 325E, Warsaw, with Pastor John B. Lowe officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
