Edna Scrafton, 88, died at 4:38 a.m. June 16, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she resided.

She was born Feb. 25, 1919, in New York City, N.Y., to Joseph and Jane Dickenson Scrafton.

After retirement in 1980, she moved to Whiting, N.J., from New York City, then moved to Warsaw to be closer to her family in 1999. She was a medical coder at Equitable Life Insurance Co., New York City, for 40 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church and a retired member of the Daughters of the British Empire.

Surviving are a brother, Joseph (and wife Lois) Scrafton, Marion; four nieces: Mrs. John (Diane) Farreira, Hawaii; Mrs. Joe (Lee) Bujold, Maine; Mrs. Rick (Joann) Helfrich, Auburn; and Mrs. Ron (Jody) Newhouse, Greentown; two nephews, Joel (and wife Teresa) Scrafton and Mark (and wife Michelle) Scrafton, both of Warsaw; four great-nieces; eight great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Scrafton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Jason Shelby officiating. Burial will be in Converse Cemetery.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
