NAPPANEE - Edna Berline Weygand Lutes, 101, formerly of Nappanee, died at 4:50 a.m. July 16, 2010, in Betz Nursing Home, Auburn, where she resided.
She was born June 19, 1909, in Nappanee, to Hubert and Ida Rarig Weygand. On June 16, 1929, in Nappanee, she married Loren Lutes, who died April 1, 1986.
She was salutatorian of the 1927 graduating class of Nappanee High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Nappanee United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (and spouse Eugene) Zahner, Auburn; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
