BREMEN - Edith Thornton, 89, of Bremen, died Nov. 5, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
She was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Kalkaska, Mich., to Harrison and Jessie Sibole Brown. On June 29, 1939, she married Clark E. Thornton, who died in 2004.
Surviving are two daughters; three sons, including Roger (and spouse Marge) Thornton, Leesburg; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Roger Walterhouse officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at the funeral home.
