Edith Edna Young, 94, of 5132 N. Bobwhite Drive, Warsaw, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 4, 2011, in her residence.
She was born March 5, 1916, in Topeka, to William Lantz and Sarah Ann Troyer Lantz. On April 21, 1934, she married the Rev. James Orville Young, who passed away in 1963.
She moved to the area in 1965 and was a homemaker, seamstress and worked as a food service supervisor at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. She was a member of Leesburg Grace Brethren Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by a son, James (and spouse Carleen) Young, Grand Prairie, Texas; three daughters: Kay Young, Reno, Nev., and Edna (and spouse Robert) Wood and Rebecca "Becky" (and spouse Joseph) Berger, all of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; two sons, Dr. Stephen L. Young, who died in 2007, and Dr. Jerry Young, who died in 2010; a grandson, James B. Young; two sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Tim Sprankle and the Rev. Jesse Deloe officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rittman (Ohio) Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
