The fourth annual Echoes of the Past Cram the Tram event to help the United States Marine Corps Reserve with the Toys for Tots program was a big success, with the club collecting toys for three weeks and the tram, pulled by Ron Longyear in his 1974 Case 1070, hauling in toys filling almost one-third of the 20-foot tram. It was a cold morning Saturday but the desire to get toys to children in the county was the only thing on the minds of the Echoes of the Past club members.
The fourth annual Cram the Tram event to help the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with the Toys for Tots program was a success, thanks to those in the community who helped fill the boxes at the club’s designated drop locations.
The club collected toys for three weeks and the tram, pulled by Ron Longyear in his 1974 Case 1070, hauled in toys filling almost one-third of the 20-foot tram.
Over 1,100 children will be served this Christmas by those who donated a new, unwrapped toy.
The club thanks R J Keirn Trucking, Splendor Boats, Runnings, Rural King, Owens Fresh Meat Market and Beacon Credit Union for being toy drop locations.
