Drugs, Wanted Man Found In Shed

The manhunt for a homeless Warsaw man wanted on a narcotics warrant came to an end Wednesday morning when NET 43 officers found him hiding in a shed at a trailer park.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office news release, Derek C. Krichbaum, 34, homeless, was wanted on the warrant and surveillance was being conducted by NET 43 officers. Officers found Krichbaum and Sara Rivera, 33, Warsaw, hiding in a shed at 1201 Wooster Road, lot 41, Winona Lake, in Fairlane Mobile Home Park. In the process of taking Krichbaum and Rivera into custody, 1.5 grams of heroin, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located within plain view, the release states.

Krichbaum was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail for the possession of methamphetamine warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, with a bond of $5,250.

Rivera was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for possession of methamphetamine with a $5,250 bond set.

NET 43 stands for Narcotics Enforcement Team and is a collaborative law enforcement unit consisting of officers from the Warsaw and Winona Lake police departments, Indiana State Police and KCSO.
