Driver Suffers Minor Injuries After Crashing Into BarnA medical episode is suspected to have led to a vehicle crashing into a barn Friday.
According to information provided by the Indiana State Police on Monday morning, ISP responded to a single-vehicle crash at approximately 6:13 p.m. Friday near CR 875W and U.S. 30.
A white 2003 Mazda, driven by Tyler Whitt, 25, North Carolina, had been driving east on U.S. 30 when it ran off the road, the ISP reported. The Mazda went off the road and crashed through a barn, hitting several pieces of equipment and a semi trailer in the barn.
Whitt was flown from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital with injuries that were found to be minor. The ISP reported that a medical episode was suspected in the crash.
Valparaiso sports reporter Paul Oren and his girlfriend were driving east on U.S. 30 Friday evening in Kosciusko County when they saw the vehicle veer off the road and drive into a barn, Oren said in a Twitter message Sunday. He said the pickup flipped, and he and his girlfriend were first on the scene. They called 911 and stayed until help arrived.
