BERRYVILLE, Va. - Dr. Ralph Charles Hall, 84, of Winchester, Va., died Jan. 24, 2010, in The Willows of Meadow Branch, Winchester.
He was born June 9, 1925, in Lowell, Ohio, to Joseph Ralph and Florence Misel Hall. On June 28, 1947, in Caldwell, Ohio, he married Elizabeth Ruth Lenox, who died May 15, 2006.
He graduated from Macksburg High School in 1943; attended Ohio State University from 1944-48, receiving a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; attended Grace Seminary, Winona Lake, where he received his master of divinity. After graduating, he was senior pastor at Riverside, Johnstown, Pa., from 1951-56. He then filled the senior position in Columbus, Ohio, until 1957, moving to Meyersdale, Pa., to pastor until 1960. From 1960-84, he was a church architect for Grace Brethren Home Missions, Winona Lake. In 1996, he received a doctorate of theology from Christian Bible & Seminary. He retired from the Brethren Home Missions Council as an architect and engineer, where he specialized in the building of churches. He had designed and engineered more than 300 churches in 22 states. He retired to Bradenton, Fla., where he continued to work as an architect and engineer in church building. He was an ordained minister with Fellowship of Grace Brethren Church and a member of Apple Valley Community Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy E. Bell, Winchester; a son, Stephen M. Hall, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Helen Bunell, Stowe, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Good Hope Cemetery, Lowell, Ohio.
