Dorothy E. Slusher

COLUMBIA CITY – Dorothy E. Slusher, 60, rural Pierceton, died at 5:40 p.m. March 17, 2016, at her home. She was born Jan. 5, 1956, in Kokomo, a daughter of the Rev. Clarence Harold and Donna L. Johnson Polk. On June 20, 1981, she was united in marriage to Garold O. Slusher Jr., who died June 28, 2008. Her formative years were spent in Peru, Kokomo, Kingford Heights, Green Center and Larwill before moving to Pierceton in 1977. She worked at Dana in Churubusco for 10 years and at Parkview Whitley Hospital in food service for 25 years. Her memberships included Bethel Baptist Church in Pierceton. Surviving relatives include three children: Crystal Slusher, Samuel (and spouse Nikkole) Slusher and Bryan Slusher, all of Pierceton; two sisters and a brother, Rebecca (and spouse John) Revis, Marion, David Harold Polk and Martha (and spouse Mike) Russell, all of Columbia City. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
