Doris J. Bayne, 88, of 900 Provident Drive, Warsaw, died at 7 a.m. June 27, 2012, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw.
She was born May 7, 1924, to John Leslie and Vera Mae Metz Lockridge. On Jan. 27, 1943, she was married to Arthur Maxwell Bayne, preceded her in death in 1993.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident, where she was a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church. She and her late husband were restaurant owners in Michigan and Warsaw. She also loved to knit and crochet.
She will be lovingly remembered by a son, Robert A. (and spouse Ida) Bayne, Ocean Springs, Miss.; a daughter, Cyndy (and spouse Joel) Light, Warsaw; a brother, Robert (and spouse Rose) Lockridge, Warsaw; a sister, Lucy Baney, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Kelly (and spouse Steve) Carson, Leesburg; Doug (and spouse Stacie) Light, Warsaw; Candace (and spouse Todd) Strang, Virginia; Saundrea Sanburn, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren: Nick, Landon and Alex Light, all of Warsaw; Josh and Jacob Carson, Leesburg; and Sidney Penner, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene and Donald Lockridge; and a sister, Mattie Mullins.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Roland Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
