Donna Gaye Blankenship

Posted

Donna Gaye Blankenship, of Warsaw, left this world surrounded by those who loved her on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, at the age of 75.
She was born on April 30, 1951, in Newport News, Va., the daughter of Harold and Twyla White Camden.
Donna was raised by her grandparents, a foundation that helped shape the strong and steady woman so many came to know and love. She married Mitchell “Mickey” Blankenship on Oct. 27, 1967, in North Carolina, beginning a marriage that remained an important part of her life until his passing on Dec. 4, 2021.
Throughout her working years, Donna built a long career. Between 1987 and 2021, she worked as an office manager for many healthcare and medical facilities, serving in roles that called for organization and care. She also worked from home in Medicare billing.
Donna had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church since 2010. She was known as someone everyone loved, and she also carried a toughness that spoke to her strength of character. Those qualities, warmth and resolve together, were part of what made her so memorable to the people around her.
Above all else, Donna’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She is survived by her children, Robin (Curtis Harris) Blankenship, of Silver Lake; and Mitchell (Liz) Blankenship Jr., of Middlebury; grandchildren: Kyndra, Mitchell III, Brooke and Steven; great-grandchildren: Mitchell Blankenship IV, Matteo Blankenship and Yvonne Blankenship; siblings, Bertha Sprouse, of Hudson, Fla.; Linda (Ron) Ramey, of Van Lear, Ky.; Janet (Bennie) Williamson, of Concord, Va.; Harold Camden Jr., of Van Lear, Ky.; Twyla Kay White, of Newport News, Va.; Katherine Westerman, of Sidney; and Sharon (Mark) Vance, of Niles, Mich. She is further survived by many extended family members and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, stepfather and great-grandson, Theo Blankenship.
Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw is assisting the family. Friends and family may gather for visitation at Bethel Baptist Church, 1109 W. Market St., Pierceton, on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m.
Her family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Bethel Baptist Church.
