Donald LeRoy Raiman, 90, Leesburg, passed away at 1:35 p.m. April 11, 2016, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Harvey, Ill., to Mathias and Mary Metz Raiman. On May 21, 1949, in Roseland, Ill., he was united in marriage to Margaret Louise, who survives, after 66 years of marriage in Leesburg. He served our country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during World War II. He worked as a T.V. repairman and technician before becoming a self-employed tile setter, retiring in 1988. He moved from Illinois to Kosciusko County in 1991, where he was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. He was an elder at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dolton, Ill., and a Little League coach. He liked to golf, pleasure boating on the lake and was an avid reader, but most of all he enjoyed working around the house. His family was his life and he provided a good life for them. Also surviving are two children, Robert Raiman, Leesburg, and Donna (and spouse Greg) Dommer, Hobart; his grandson, Timothy Slach, Hobart; and his fiancé, Tracey Noe, Bourbonnais, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Clarence and Howard Raiman. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. April 23 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Mueller officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1196, Warsaw, at the church following the service.
