PIERCETON - Donald "Ed" Sherrill, 82, of Pierceton, died at 12:40 a.m. July 27, 2010, in Mason Health & Rehab, Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio, to Troy and Viola Huffmaster Sherrill. He married Margaret Ann Sult and later married Marian E. Launder Graft Dyson.
He graduated from Oak Harbor (Ohio) High School and worked at Bendix Corp., Huntington, for 30 years. He was an inventor and enjoyed woodcarving. He was a member of a barber shop quartet for many years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged Sept. 11, 1952.
Surviving are a son, Randall Sherrill, Mishawaka; three daughters: Cynthia (and spouse Steve) Lutz, Mishawaka; Diana (and spouse Keith) Sorenson, Antioch, Ill.; and Barbara Sherrill, Fort Meyers, Fla.; three stepdaughters: Bonnie (and spouse Dan) Gill, Wabash; Rustee (and spouse Dennis) Shoffner, Russiaville; and Carol (and spouse Jay) Outcelt, Warsaw; a brother, Troy J. Sherrill, Oak Harbor, Ohio; a sister, Luana Sherrill Harder, Perrysberg, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Ind. 13, Pierceton, with Pastor Holly White officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with military honors by members of American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.
