KOKOMO – Donald Earl Swick, 79, of Kokomo, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 2:23 p.m. Dec. 4, 2011, in Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo.
He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Kosciusko County, to Everett Earl and Helen Whittenberger Swick. On June 26, 1955, in Miami County, he married Margaret Ann Smith, who survives.
He worked at Union Tools, Warsaw, for 15 years, then started his own business, “Swick Patterns”, as a master pattern maker for 35 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was involved with KEMRAD, Warsaw, for 26 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Timothy Swick, Warsaw, and Mark (and spouse Darlene) Swick, Kokomo; a daughter, Amanda (and spouse Donald) Kelley, Peterborough, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Gregory W. Swick and Daniel W. Swick; and a grandson, Scott R. Swick.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Sexton officiating.
