Donald E. Wallen, 70, of Winona Lake, passed away at 3:45 p.m. April 4, 2013, in his residence. He was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Henry and Bessie Hall Wallen. On July 8, 1972, in Clintwood, Va., he married Eliza Marie Blevins, who survives. A resident of Kosciusko County since 1958, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and son. He enjoyed his life with his family. Also surviving are his parents, Henry and Bessie Wallen, Warsaw; his children: Donald E. II (and spouse Carolyn) Wallen, Sidney; LaDonna Dee Mort, Pierceton; Rebecca Dee Wallen and Romona Dee (and spouse David) Wright, all of Winona Lake; and Rachael Dee (and spouse Kevin) Paul, Warsaw; a brother, William R. (and spouse Sally) Wallen, Somerset, Ky.; sisters, Henrietta Myer, Silver Lake, and Frances Wallen, Rockwell, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Howard Vance officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
