Warsaw born Don Engle and Sonya McKown Engle both died this past year. Don was the son of former mayor Jack Engle and wife Mable. Sonya was the daughter of Fred McKown and wife Lucy. Sonya’s surviving sister, Jeannine McKown Cavell, resides in Warsaw.
Don and Sonya were married at Warsaw First United Methodist Church in June 1947. They would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this year.
Don was a Navy vet of World?War II. He will be honored by Warsaw American Legion Honor Guard.
A memorial service will be held June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Brian R. Smith will officiate.
