The young man who was sworn in as an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent was able to take a tour of the Kosciusko County Jail Museum Friday.
DJ will appear at A Country Christmas with Susie McEntire today. DJ was formally sworn in by President Donald J. Trump as an honorary United States Secret Service agent in recognition of his bravery and his unwavering support for law enforcement officers.
DJ spoke about his world record goal of wanting to join over 1,000 law enforcement agencies, and father Theo Daniel showed DJ’s Secret Service badge.
“It started when we were in Hurricane Harvey, and three officers stopped me and my siblings,” said DJ. “My dad asked if we were in trouble, and they said no it’s just crazy how they were running like squirrels. They took us upstairs to get some curled up mushroom pizza.”
Theo spoke about how Daniel became Turning Point USA’s Youngest Influencer on Thursday.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Doug Light said someone that was going to be bringing DJ in for the concert today asked for a couple things to be set up for DJ to do while he was in town.
With the good work Historical Society President Greg Steffe and the staff at the historical society does, Light said he thought the museum would be a good place to bring DJ for him to learn a little bit about the county’s history.
During DJ’s stop at the museum, Steffe gave him a tour of the old jail, showing him where prisoners were kept and the residence where the sheriff used to live. DJ also saw the historical society’s exhibit on girls basketball. When asked what his favorite part was, he said pretty much everything.
At the end of the tour, DJ was made an honorary member of the historical society.
After the stop at the historical society, DJ was going to the KCSO and to take a tour there.
