Dixie Mikel, 78, of Bremen, and formerly of Nappanee (Kosciusko County), passed away at 9:26 p.m. May 29, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Warsaw, to Charles William “Pete” and Vivian Cleora Slusher Blue. On Dec. 5, 1954, in Urbana, she married Richard “Rich” Mikel, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.  
Also surviving are a daughter, Peggy (and spouse Bill) Hagenmeyer, Bremen; a sister Clete, (and spouse Doug) Rensberger, Nappanee; a brother, Terry (and spouse Nancy) Blue, Warsaw; her mother, Vivian Blue,  Nappanee; two grandchildren, Aaron and Wendi Beck,  both of Nappanee; and three great-grandchildren, Kiayn, Bryce and Alexis. She also was preceded in death by her father; a son, James; a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Charlotte.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Aaron Snodgrass officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
