Linda Hamilton, this is in response to your letter some time ago titled "Bad Bush." You just kind of bugged me. Let's be honest, fair and reasonable, OK?
1. You say, "Obama is a Christian." Well, hallelujah! To be a Christian one must "born a new." John 3:6-7. It is not enough to just join a church. One must be born from inside out and not outside in. Well, Christ really is the judge.
"Bush acting as a god." He is president of United States after all. I think he has a title, "Chief Executive," also. President Clinton held that position eight years also you know.
3. "Bush doing his best to destroy America." May I remind you that we have had no bombs hit our country since 9/11. That was during Bush's administration. Let's give credit when credit is do. You perhaps don't remember one of Bush's early statements was, "He planned as president to defend America and he preferred to fight the war over seas, rather than on the home front."
4. "Big debt." If war was on the home front, much American property would be damaged, local people would be killed. Who knows, maybe the debt would be even larger. Maybe you would not be alive either.
5. "Gasoline $4 a gallon." Do you not remember years ago President Bush wanted to drill for more oil in Alaska? I resume our beloved Congress kept him from doing so.
6. Border open for illegal immigrants. That is a tough decision. The Bible says "Love your neighbor as yourself."
7. Time for McCain bashing." Let's say, "time for no bashing." Linda, that is much more respectable, don't you think?
Regarding the war. It is not over land. It is between one class of people and another. I think we are in a spiritual war. A war between a bad spirit and a good spirit.
When I was in high school, my teacher said, "It is possible to have eyes and yet not see." The word "see" can mean to "understand" also. Our enemy says something like "Murder is good for you even if you do not like it." They will murder the most awful ways also. Too shameful for me to say. The Bible says, "We should not murder, and who ever murders is in danger of the judgement." Matt. 5:21.
