Today I read again where the Indiana Democrats are still holding out and refusing to come back and do the job they were elected to do. They tacked on another $100-a-day fine on them, so it must be they have enough cash in their back pockets that a fine doesn't bother them.
I totally understand why they took off in the first place, but now that it's been taken off the table, why is our state government being held hostage by the Democrats? This is nothing more than a hostage situation and that's all you can call it. Is this going to be an ongoing thing where the Democrats don't get everything they want they just run off to another state so in essence they shut democracy down? Nice way of doing a job, wouldn't you say? I guarantee if I did this on my job, I would be fired pretty quick.
I got to give the Democrats credit on one thing, they follow their leader to the tee, literally. While we have a crisis going on in Libya and a nightmare going on in Japan beyond believe, where was our leader? Out on the golf course playing 18-holes. I don't know if he did this before or after he filled out his NCAA bracket. Somebody needs to wake the Democrats up and tell them this is real life they are messing with, not bracketville.
I say Mitch needs to send the law over and bring them back and I'm no big fan of Mitch's either, but the Democrats acting like a little kid not getting their way has grown a bit silly too, don't you think?
I wonder if years ago when Washington or even Kennedy was in office, had their congress ran off, what would they have done? To me it's pretty much an act of treason. You have slapped democracy in the face. You where voted in to do a job. So man or woman up and come back and do it. There are other bills and measures to deal with.
I've rambled on long enough. Bottom line is, it's time to stop the whining and crying and come back and do the job you was elected to do. You all have a good day there in Illinois.
