NORTH WEBSTER - Delong Powersports, 612 S. Main St., North Webster, is owned by Dan and Shari Delong.
In January, they will be celebrating their 16 years in business. They got started at their first location in Tipton, eventually expanding to Kokomo and North Webster.
They sell used cars, cars, trucks, bands, SUVs at their other locations, as well as service everything they sell.
At their North Webster location, they sell golf carts and have their own service available there as well.
They hope to expand into Jeeps.
“Yeah, we will end up doing some off-road like, you know, wranglers, trucks, 4x4. We'd like to specialize in a 4x4 center,” they said.
“We do offer some four wheelers and UTVs. We haven’t brought those up here yet, but eventually, we'll expand to the UTVs and four wheelers and side by sides.”
Delong Powersports has financing available and can take trades.
Asked what makes them unique to North Webster, they said, “Well, we love the small town, we're a family-owned business.
“And I don’t say for sure but our claim to fame, if we can say it that way, is we're very customer focused, both in our car business as well as the golf car business. I tell my folks to treat people the way, you want to be treated. I know, it's cliche, but it's simple, you treat everyone like family and how you want to be treated.”
Shari said, “We're really excited about having our business opportunity here and, servicing customers here in the North Webster and surrounding areas with golf carts.”
Dan said, “We're very faith-based people. We feel very blessed. We felt like God had a hand in this because we've been looking for over a year, or maybe longer, to try to open something up, up here. We had been so busy we felt like we were burning the candle at both ends. We knew that when the timing was right god would open the door for us. Once we finally slowed down, we found an opportunity to get a hold of the right people and were able to secure this location.”
