Amy, I would like to start off by stating you did a wonderful job of researching the populations of both counties and towns. You did not have to go to all of that trouble since I am fully aware that the counties vary tremendously in population. I am also fully aware of the economic situations of both counties and towns as well as both of the states we live in.
You are correct in stating that Warsaw is one of best places in the United States to live, I fully agree. I understand that it is a great place to raise children because I was one of those children that was afforded the opportunity to live there until I was in my 20s. I also think Mio is a wonderful place to live as well.
I have a wonderful class of 25 third-graders. We have three feet of snow on the ground and when I can I take every opportunity to go on a snowmobile ride. We have one of the best rivers in the AuSable River, where people from all over the state come to camp, tube, and canoe. We have over a thousand acres of National Forest in the Huron National Forest.
My county is beautiful and I love living here. Do not think for a minute that I am complaining about where I live. I understand I chose to live here and will never regret it. I am the head coach of the Mio high school baseball team, I am on the Little League board, Athletic Boosters board, PTO, School Improvement committee. If I didn't like it here I would move.
I understand how great the economy is. My parents work for those wonderful orthopedic businesses. I understand the stability that Kosciusko County has. I just see no reason for people to complain about things when it comes to worrying about which type of restaurant we need to build next.
Why is gas more expensive in Warsaw? Warsaw is more stable than areas around them, that's why.
Also, I am not complaining because things cost more here. I was just simply stating that they do. I have enough money to live, I have a great job(s).
Again, I want to applaud you for the research you have done comparing and contrasting the two counties and towns. When I read your letter you made it sound like I knew nothing about Warsaw. Oh, by the way, a lady I know just opened a brand new store in town. Looks like we are growing up here in the sticks.
