David Ryan Oaks passed away from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the age of 43.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1980, in Warsaw, to David and Charlotte L. Wadkins Oaks. Home was Silver Lake and later in life he moved to Mentone. For the past three years he had been a resident of Burnside, Ky.
David was a 2000 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and throughout his life worked various jobs. For many years he was a hard-working reliable employee of KGP in Warsaw. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed ginseng hunting, collected knives and fishing poles. He was great with his hands and detail work and had a talent for drawing and whittling wood. David had a great sense of humor and loved picking on people. He was a loving father and uncle who never tired of spending time playing with his children, nieces and nephews. David will forever be loved and remembered by his family.
David's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all of his children he leaves behind; and his two sisters, Cristy (Chad) Haselby, Mentone; and Joyce (Jim) Prater, Claypool. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte L. Oaks, on June 22, 2009; and his father, David Oaks, on May 10, 2020.
David's life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 250 N. Main St., Claypool, and officiated by Pastor John Dotson and Pastor Jerry Wadkins. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
