MILFORD - David Leroy Hillery, 79, of Milford, passed away Dec. 1, 2010, in Golden Living Center, Elkhart.
He was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Warsaw, to Victor and Lola Castle Hillery. On Dec. 8, 1979, he married Donna J. Stone, who survives.
He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1950, and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as corporal (T) as a medic in the Korean War. He and his family moved to Milford from Warsaw in 1983, and he was an equipment operator for NIPSCO. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve (and spouse Helen) Hillery and Gene (and spouse Tanya) Tyler, Milford; three daughters, Debbie (and spouse Don) Smith, Amiee (and spouse Steve) Bowler and Lesia (and spouse Dan) VanLue, all of Milford; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Fribley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Cheyenne.
Services were Saturday at Milford United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Bob Nelson. Burial was in Milford Cemetery.
Calling was Friday at the funeral home with a Masonic service.
Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
