Danny Lee Bruner passed away at his Melbourne, Fla., home on April 2, 2026, at the age of 77. Originally from Warsaw, Danny’s long battle with Parkinson’s has come to an end, and he is now whole again in Heaven!
He was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Warsaw, to Margaret Ellen Bowser Bruner and Earl Alexander Bruner. Danny graduated from Mentone High School, Mentone, and continued his education at United Electronics Institute and Concordia University. A dedicated employee in the orthopedic industry, Danny spent 23 years at Zimmer in Warsaw serving as a group leader, and later working at Biomet, where he remained until he retired.
On Dec. 20, 1975, Danny and Tammy Rae Herring were married at Cook’s Chapel Church in Warsaw. Having celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past year was testament to the example of a marriage based on unconditional love, devotion and a shared faith in their Lord and Savior. He was a dedicated member of the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church in Winona Lake, where Danny served alongside his wife, as a presenting couple for the Free Methodist Marriage Encounter Retreats, traveling throughout Indiana and Michigan for 13 years. He found great joy in participating in the church’s annual Last Supper performances at Easter.
Danny also spent 11 years refereeing soccer for KCSL and local high schools across Northern Indiana. An avid sports fan, he spent his Saturdays and Sundays cheering for Notre Dame and the Colts, though the ultimate highlight for him was witnessing IU’s national championship victory. Above all he loved his Lord and spending precious time with his family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Tammy Bruner, Melbourne, Fla.; two sons, Todd (Trish) Bruner, Melbourne, Fla.; Kyle (Beth) Bruner, Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Alyssa Flannagan, New Palestine; Michelle Young, St. Joseph, Ill.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ross; and his brother, Steven.
Danny’s life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pete Albertson. Family and friends may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Inc., 102 E. Market St., Warsaw, IN 46580.
