NAPPANEE - Danny L. Slabaugh, 68, of 8 Boulder Court, Nappanee, died at 2:58 a.m. Feb. 2, 2009, in Elkhart General Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born March 1, 1940, in Syracuse, to Ernest A. and Lois M. Carl Slabaugh.
He graduated from Nappanee High School in 1958, and DeVry Technical Institute, Chicago. He worked in the service and warranty department at Holiday Rambler. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea from 1962-64. He was a member of Nappanee American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of Nappanee Jaycees.
Surviving are his mother, Lois M. Slabaugh, Nappanee; a sister, Kim (and spouse David) Ingle, Nappanee; and three brothers, Billy, Jody and Mikel Slabaugh, all of Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a sister and his father.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, There will be cremation. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery with military graveside services.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
