MENTONE - Daniel W. Swick, 47, of 308 S. First Street, North Manchester, died at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 9, 2008, in his residence following an illness he had been battling for several years.
He was born May 27, 1961, in Rochester, to Donald and Margaret Smith Swick, who survive in Huachuca, Ariz.
He was a welder at Wabash Valley Manufacturing, Silver Lake. He was a 1979 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School.
Also surviving are his fiancee of more than eight years, Sally Miller, North Manchester; a son, Travis Swick, Warsaw; two daughters, Brenda and Kacie Miller, both of North Manchester; a sister, Amanda (and spouse Donald) Kelley, Peterborough, N.H.; two brothers, Timothy (and spouse Ellen) Swick, Warsaw, and Mark (and spouse Darlene) Swick, Kokomo; a granddaughter, Joslyn Miller, North Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Swick, and a brother, Greg Swick, in 2008.
A private graveside service will be at a later date in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Henry Arnett Jr. officiating.
