FORT WAYNE — Dan L. Hyde, 51, passed away Jan. 20, 2017, in Fort Wayne. Born in Gary, he graduated from Warsaw High School, and later received his master's degree from Indiana University. He worked with Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking, was an artist who enjoyed painting, and was a magician. Surviving are his wife, Jayne Schele, Fort Wayne; step-sons, Gary House and Vinnie Birrueta, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Pat (spouse Shirley) Hyde, Pierceton; a sister, Beth (spouse Scott) Wray, Fort Wayne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded by his parents, Ralph and Mary Hyde. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. ***** Memorials to the American Heart Association.
