Damaged Fence

Posted

Editor, Times-Union:

This letter is in response to the fence damage on Ind. 25.

If nobody has contacted the owner by now, it probably won't happen. The reason I say that is because our fence was ran into a couple of times last summer and nobody came forward to take responsibility for it. Also, last summer a young lady driving a white car ran over my motorcycle at the old Owen's grocery store. I am still waiting on her to call me about that. Her conscious must have worked for a couple of minutes because she took the time to get out of her car and put my bike back on the kick stand. Then she realized what she did and took off.

I have heard that it is very common for people to get insurance on their vehicles long enough to get plates for them, then cancel the policy.

So you see, Susan, I just don't think anyone will come foward and do the right thing.

My suggestion to the owner is, go to the police and find out from the accident reports who was involved. Maybe he will be luckier than I was and get a name to go along with the damage.
